It wasn't until recent years that the popularity of sneaker technology and non retros started becoming the "go-to" purchase.  Other than a brands Retro Line and Nike's Jordan line. Sneaker Technology in the past has taken a back seat to retros i.e.. Dunk, shell toes, Classic Basketball shoes.

Nike as well as its main competitors have made a stride in introducing technologically advanced footwear and recently has hit the reseller and consumer main stream. 

The Nike Flyknit is a prime example of a NIKE technologically advanced shoe that has hit the reseller and consumer main stream. Nothing like a retro, you have to respect the silhouette and color variances in this particular model.

Not to mention in comfortability. (well not really) its still cool though.


FLY-Knits are the go to at the SHOP.


Its funny to think that NIKE SB used to command prices close to the $1000.00 range. 

This Particular recently released 3m Dunk Hi would have been an instant HIT, in 2004.  Easily 300+

Us sneaker heads finally wised up and started buying Lebron X for $300.00 SMH.



Cold weather in FULL effect. Its nice to see "boots" with un-matched comfort and style.

Might have to buy a pair for "rain shoes".

RIF II Celebration RE-CAP.

 When Jeff and I made our trips to Japan years ago, we were engulfed in the culture and in the ideal FASHION mecca of the world, TOKYO.  IF you haven't visited Japan its reminiscent of a dream where brands, style, footwear, and over-all clothing is "over the top" but different sub-groups of fashion you are sure to find your niche.  Coming back to the United States we were always dis-appointed with the types of shops, customer service, and variety our niche offered here in the US.

Jeff and I wanted to create a store something different for those interested in something new.

RIF II Clothing.

This Past Saturday November 10th, 2012 we celebrated with those that have Supported RIF NEW and OLD. With the Soft Opening of DOORS of our new store.

 We wanted to SAY, "Thank you" by offering FREE Liquor, Free Tacos and place WE can ALL celebrate our accomplishments

Its takes a lifetime for some to complete a vision a dream. For some it never comes.

It took Jeff and I, 

11months.

Day one of construction.


End of Week one of Construction.


Mid-way of Week 2 of Construction.


DAY 28.

3 Days Prior to our Grand Opening.


OUR Celebration was from 7-10pm       3 hours only.

 This was 1 Hour into our Grand Opening some waited 2 hours before it started. 

We do this for ALL our Supporters. THANK YOU.

The holiday season always brings family and friends together. Some travel across the country from lonily dorm rooms back to Moms house. Others re-unite with for this once a year holiday season to celebrate the little time before work or other obligations commence into their daily schedules.

There is one thing we all share during this holiday season (not only buying for ourselves) but giving to those that we care about and sometimes to those less fortunate.

50 TURKEYS. (this was to prevent lineups and overall chaos)

To our surprise the WORD Spread like wild FIRE and we were HONORED to give to those FAMILIES in NEED.

Because we wanted to make sure that those that couldn't make it to RIF received a much needed family meal. 

We trekked to DEPTHS of Skid ROW and gave to those in NEED.

Connor scared that one of these 15lbs birds was gonna crush his fragile skull.

Today December 9th marks our 6th year ANNIVERSARY.

From our inception in 2007 we are blessed to have met new friends/ customers and more importantly happy to have the opportunity to service ALL your sneaker needs.

We have come a long way from our modest beginnings and still have a LONG way to reach our VISION.

We want to thank EVERYONE that has ever stepped foot in RIF.

Happy New Year

The Holiday season is always the busiest time of the year for us.  Here at RIF, we have been swamped with an enormous amount of sales, both ONLINE and IN-STORE.  It is safe to say that without YOU, our customers, we would not be where we are today.  


This has been a typical scene here at RIF throughout the past few weeks, as you can see we have been living our slogan of #PUSHINGWEIGHT



Not only are we helping all our customers on the sales floor, we are busy in the back wrapping shoes for display as well. We have dozens of new shoes coming in daily.



Shoutout to Trumaine Johnson (@truj2) for coming through with @kikcrazy and @dsdaily_
If you don't know who this young man is yet, chances are you will soon.  He is one of the best young cornerbacks in the NFL, playing for the St. Louis Rams.




Another rising star from the NFL decided to drop by RIF.  
Shoutout to #13 Josh Gordon (@Kamoflash) of the Cleveland Browns.
Clearly Carl is starstruck of his FAVORITE wide receiver.  




Since the Holidays are filled with countless hours of shopping and searching for a perfect Christmas gift for your friends and family, it is easy to forget to be thankful for what we have.

A few of us from RIF decided to give thanks and went to Christmas Mass.

After organizing and filling up the racks and shelves with clothes, we've decided to create a blog for RIF.LA Dos.
Yes, this is our first post...

Well, we finally received our shipment of RIF beanies.
The homie Lennard helped out ilnoj double check the stock just to make sure we have enough beanies for everyone for tomorrow's drop.

Not sure if you guys have been to Little Tokyo a lot, but this is Andre our famous mascot. (He's been featured on 2 RIF tees already!) He will sing to you until you give him money. You can also request songs too, but it'll cost you. Haha.

The past few days have been very busy for the Team at Rif 1.  
Not only is our website down for quarterly maintenance, RIF was closed today for our quarterly inventory check.  


Not only are all the shoes brought out of the racks, they are checked to be displayed
on the floor, and if they aren't on display they are wrapped accordingly.

By far the most popular shoes in the shop, the beloved Jordan section.  We have more Jordan's than ever, this is just a fraction of them being checked for our quarterly inventory.  


El Heffe  aka Everyones Enemy was working hard today in the "Trap House" 
He did inventory on hundreds of shoes today along with the rest of the team.

 

Half-way through the day and there's still plenty of work to be done.

One would think that with all this hard work, the team would be hungry and expecting a full meal.  Looks like we just had some Krispy Kreme, as we like to call it, a traditional B.O.C. (Breakfast of Champions)

REINFORCE CREW

Another weekend, another drop. 
Every other Saturday, we tend to drop/release new items.
Well, this time it is our own RIF clothing that dropped. 
Besides our "club-house" beanies, we had a quickstrike drop of crewnecks.
"REINFORCE" (That's what RIF means! We're not gang affiliated!)
Since we had a quickstrike shipment of new RIF clothes, we have to sometimes delay our opening hours.
And yes, sometimes a line forms outside the store.

We just got this brand new Supreme RZA tee (photo by David Corio) and we haven't even put it up on Instagram (by the way, if you're not following us on IG, it is: @RIFLAII [Clothing store.Not the Shoe store.]).
(Yeah, just put it in the glass case the day before.)
When this person saw the Rza tee, he asked what size and how much. So we told him that it's a size Large and it's $150 brand new.
Then he goes, "I'll take it." So had to repeat the price and he was serious.
Yeah, he did pay the price.
Again, you gotta remember, we're a consignment store.

Jay-Z? Nope, that's the bossman. Haha.

Money well spent. Took the time to dig through the brand new tees shelves and found those tees.

A1 Everything

This past Thursday night the RIF traphouse crew was cordially invited to celebrate
the grand opening of Yojie Japanese Fondue's THIRD location in Diamond Bar.  Shoutout to the good people at Yojie for taking care of us, hands down they have the BEST shabu shabu so be sure to check them out.  


After taking a look at the menu, we all had a plate of The Geisha which was a nice, lean serving of beef.  A1 food and A1 service, safe to say we were treated to A1 Everything


The first thing we all noticed when we arrived.  Who's Rolls Royce Phantom was this?


None other than the good homie Ben Baller (@benballer)
It was nice to see you and chop it up brotha.  Real Recognize Real.


Since we were all in a celebratory spirit, it was only fitting we popped a bottle.  Courvoisier all around for the RIF team


As you can see, the TURNUP was real for Manager Manny and Kilroy Carl.

Pushing Weight

Little Tokyo has always been a beautiful and comfortable location for us ever since we opened our doors in 2006.  Even if it's February, you can expect a clear blue sky and the sun to shine every day.  The perks of California weather in Little Tokyo is seen below.


Carl has been breaking necks everyday he works.  He's always featured on our sneaker shots of the day, and for good reason.  Who's gonna step it up and take home the honors of Sneaker Shot of the Day next time?!  Here he is rocking some Galaxy Foams.

Let's give a warm welcome to RIF's newest intern, Danny.  As you can see he is #PUSHINGWEIGHT since his first day on the job.  This is the first of THREE deliveries we make on a DAILY basis, thanks to all the support to all our loyal customers who stay copping kicks online


We've been getting more shoes in the shop than ever before, so you know that means we are displaying more too.  The Wrapping station is routinely filled up with kicks that are ready to be put on our display floor, don't sleep on all the DEALS


Since Danny got all his work done, he decided to take a stroll through the Little Tokyo Plaza.  


If you're ever in the area, be sure to check out the one man band, Arthur Nakane.  Danny is his #1 fan after watching him perform, he even had to cop his CD.

This past President's Day Weekend has been the BUSIEST weekend so far in the new year.  The team had to gear up heading into this chaotic weekend filled with some MAJOR releases with the Area 72 Pack coming out.

Each and every one of our customers know that RIF is the place to go to get classic Jordan's and Nikes, but apparently we're now the local spot for classic cars?! Shoutout to Scott for coming through this past weekend with this American classic, 1964 Chevy Impala SS.


While Jordan Brand has recently released the Jordan Retro 3 '88, has anyone seen these yet? My guess is no!  These are a 1/1 made by one of RIF's  supporters, Herbert Neil.  How do you like this take on the classic shoe?

While many of you know RIF LA is the go to spot for most sneakerheads in the greater Los Angeles area, we are now becoming more acquainted with our celebrity cliental. Shoutout to Young Chop (@Youngchopbeatz) and the Homie Wayne for stopping by! Real cool dudes, in case you DONT know Young Chop is one of the BEST producers today, of course Carl is keeping it 3hunna... He even asked Young Chop if he can be part of GBE... Looks like Carl is going to keep his day job.


 Derrick Williams (@DWILLVII) of the Minnesota Timberwolves has been supporting us for a while now.  He even donated some of his very own Player Exclusive shoes to the homeless a few months back.  As you can see, Kilroy Carl and Manwell are his Number 1 fans!

As we slowly move out of Winter and into Spring the weather has been changing pretty quickly.  This past weekend was a hot one with Friday being over 90 degrees.  It seems yet another WARM California Summer is headed our way, and it is about that time for people to start switching from their Winter wardrobe into their Summer one.  With that being said, it only meant that it was going to be yet another busy and star-studded weekend in the Traphouse of RIF LA.  Below, you can see the perfect example of NETWORKING.  HEFFE x Ben Baller x Domo Genesis


Carl always working the sales floor and making sure ALL of our customers receive A1 customer service.  His face of determination, Carl is never satisfied without making a sale, helping a customer find a shoe in their size, or helping people with online order issues.


Kilroy Carl decided to break necks this weekend and rock some Concords with his '94 Bred 1's.  Peep the Roley as well...


Continuing our tradition of RIF car shows in the infamous loading zone, we had this Porsche 911 Turbo.  Although this time it does not belong to a world famous celebrity, it did belong to a local celebrity.


The man of the hour, Kikcrazy, big chillin with Manager Manny on Saturday night.  Kik has been one of our homies for a long time now, so it's about time we show him so love on the blog!  Since he was in such a good mood, he even let Manny & Danny take a joy ride in his whip.


Here's the beginning of our Sneaker Shot recap of the weekend.  Kikcrazy starts us off with his Royal Jordan 1's, check out his custom sweatshorts he cut down from the original sweatpants.  


The legendary SHOEWOLF decided to drop by as well, and as you can see he was rocking some heat.  KD 4 Galaxies, nice to see you brotha

It is becoming a routine that we continually mention the great PERFECT weather Little Tokyo displays week in and week out, this past weekend was certainly not an exception.  The sun was beaming all weekend with clear blue skies as we all made the switch into Daylight Savings time.  


Shoutout to the GOOD people over at Pacific Dining Car for blessing us with a FREE lunch.  It is greatly appreciated as always.  Anyone reading this you're more than welcome to do the same it would definitely make our day!  It's not every day that your whole team gets to eat chicken breast with salad or with mashed potatoes and rice while you're ON the job. #GoodPeopleHelpingGoodPeople


In case you haven't heard, we are currently selling Paid Dues tickets in store only!  Be sure to pick up your ticket before they are all gone, we have them for $76 dollars each only at RIF LA.

Another weekend, another sneaker release with the Air Jordan 13's "He Got Game" coming out.  This could only mean that it was going to be another chaotic BUSY weekend at the Traphouse of RIF LA.  Hopefully you all have noticed our new signs on top of both of our shops!


There's nothing better than being blessed by good people with good food.  Featured here are the fruity pebble pastries from Cafe Dulce across the street from us.  These are addicting to say the least..


The JORDAN section of the shop is filling up quick, as you can see the middle sections are filled with black boxes, which are ALL Bred 11's..  It's almost impossible to spot our Concord section which used to fill up that entire place!  


Mark your calendars, RIF will be in attendance this upcoming Saturday (March 23) at the Battle Royale, which is hosted by our good homie BEN BALLER and features a live performance by our other close friend ScHoolboy Q..  There's also going to be an NBA 2k13 tournament, so be sure to support your favorite GINGER aka Connor playing for a grand prize of 2 racks cash


Speaking of our favorite Ginger, Connor donated some of his old pants to our homie, OG.  We stay lacing him up with donation kicks and clothes, everyone be sure to keep in mind we are STILL donating shoes and clothes on a daily basis so feel free to bring your donations down to the shop!

If you ever need to pick up some new clothes to go with your kicks you copped at RIFLA, be sure to visit the Clubhouse aka Rif Dos which is basically next door to our shoe store.  Here are some of the pieces from the recent CDG x Supreme drop from this past Thursday.


We also carry all of our Vans at the clothing store, since this style of shoe definitely goes with any of the clothing we sell here as well.  Take your pick.
